02-26-2026 HELLO and welcome to my model memories archive for my long time being amongst the marvelous folks who have kept the IPMS Monterey Bay club alive for over 6 decades now
It's just a small collection of newsletters and bits of information, you'll see. Hard for me to fathom that it's been over 4 decades since I won my first IPMS Region 9 award (a 5th place in 1/72nd scale jets category, split due to there being OVER 60 ENTRIES in that one alone !
Although there was another, earlier newsletter of the original club, called The Apteryx, right now I don't have any copies to share here and those who had them I knew of, have now left us for Great Mystery beyond so I am going with an archive of the recently retired "M Bay Muddler"

The Monterey Bay Muddler  was birthed so nameless in mid-2015, thanks to Mr Lester Tockerman.
His biography is pretty interesting. For now we'll just leave you with idea that he left his mark on many of us in many ways,. I do miss
him, he definitely knew how to live and love
those he considered a part of his community.

His "Layout Artist", Mr Ramon Lomeli, was a
key component of "Muddler" production from the start and took over all the Chief Editorship as Lester dealt with the hardballs life deals us.

Lester "went on ahead" June 6 2022, yes on
D-Day, quite like him in my estimate. There is an award series given in his memory that is only for junior modelers who compete in Fremont Hornets TriCity Classics. Up to three cash prize for encouraging young to take up, have fun with the joy of modelling, as Lester always did.

Ramon has kept the flame alive for a goodly time, now he has given notice that the last issues of The Monterey Bay Muddler now in place as he too now has no more time for it.

I encourage you to read the issues from the start to finish. Thanks to the efforts of these two fine men as Editors plus ALL the FOLKS WHO MADE the MODELS so are CLUB M-BAY,
you will perhaps gain why I appreciate them

Appreciate as I do the digital communications age, still as an Editor myself find that having a single finished document fixed point in space really handy when trying to make an archive

THANK YOU LESTER and RAMON for these !.

And if you really want to get a great capsule bio to gain better idea of our greatly missed Lester go to July 2022 Muddler and read, reflect. -mb
