WE COULDN'T HAVE DONE IT WITHOUT YOU - The Contest Staff

As Winston said so famously, again it applies here, "Never was so much, owed by so many, to so few".
The HARDEST WORKING STAFF EVER, I thank you

and my apologies as I single out here, one for a Special Thanks Award

Contest Director's THANKS to MIKE WOOLSON, TriCity X Raffle Chairman

He went way beyond the call of duty to make sure that everything was running and ran a lot of interference for the Director, and others, throughout the day. He also managed to deliver several fabulous BIG raffles during the event with "new" hire staff, and never even seemed to be getting tired. That's Mike ======================================================================================================================

Photo Gallery - Reviewing the Combatants for Special Award 17 at TC-X

With all too familiar suddenness, last December 2013 one of our own, Expatriate Free Hornet Angelo Deogracias, was taken from this life in midst of fierce battle with cancer. He was a very young 51, and is damned sorely missed

In response to this unfair turn of life events, the Contest Director chose to put forth an emergency order of there to be an additional Special Award for then underway TriCity X, to honor the memory of a great member of our club. As it was outlined in more detail in the Special Award Reference package, the award was to be for the Best of any type of North American Mustang family members, as this was one of Angelo's all time favorite aircraft, the only one the Director (Burton) figured would generate sufficient turnout (sorry Hawker and Vought fans, but that's the truth) So, "P-51, Cadillac of the Skies" trophy was sponsored in his memory by Mike Meek and Mick Burton, recalling as we do how Angelo would burst out with that catchphrase at unexpected moments to amuse himself and us... Here is the totality of those who showed up to compete for the award at the TriCity Ten, along with picture of Angelo . The winner as judged from the group by another old friend who had no Mustang in this race, was Chris Bucholtz.

Angelo would have appreciated that turn of events, as it was the Tuskegee Airman Mustang and Chris credited his friend Angelo as the single most inspiration in his dedication foreword of his own book on this famous group.
